Christmas came early for this little Panamanian doll as this baby goat was born only a few hours earlier. The kid followed shadowed this little girl’s every step, even when she was nice enough to allow me to photograph her..

With all the imagination of a child caught in the moment, the little girl fashioned a pice of pcv pipe into her staff to complete the story going in in her mind this morning.

The dried umbilical chord is still evident

I was doing a shoot of two really adorable kids jut before Christmas 2010. Since the boy was not into it as much as his sister, I suggested to him that when we get all done doing the “grown up modeling shots for John Powers” that we do a theme he wanted to do, just for him.

JD is a history buff, to say the least, and all 12 yrs of him can easily hold intelligent conversations pertaining to just about most of Americas military history. So he wanted to acknowledge the heros in his life. (on a side note, his dad played football in the NFL for 20 years) His hero’s, outside of his parents, do not play pro sports.

Together we set up this shot to honor all those soldiers abroad who can not be at home with their families for the holidays. With this image we say a silent prayer for their safe arrival back home and as soon as possible.

Mostly JD and I want them to know they are never forgotten or abandoned in our hearts; especially during the holidays and we are all at home with our loved one’s sipping egg nog in safety.
